Hello Mass Fintech Hub Community, Spring has sprung, and so has the buzz—here’s what’s blooming this month!

Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that Julieann Thurlow, President & CEO of Reading Cooperative Bank and Mass Fintech Hub Co-Chair, was named by Innovate Finance to their annual Powerlist of Women in Fintech. We’ve also been busy bringing together the Massachusetts Fintech community, to help enable our vision of making Massachusetts the global fintech hub, by hosting our first Mass Fintech Hub Community Meetup last month at Wolf & Company. It was a fantastic evening, filled with meaningful conversations and new connection between founders, investors, executives, students, and ecosystem leaders from all corners of fintech. The Boston Blockchain Association, in partnership with the Digital Business Institute at BU, AVA LABS and Mass Tech Collaborative hosted an inaugural blockchain hackathon and business case competition, with 6 student teams representing schools from across the state winning $15,000 in prize money for innovation in applied blockchain solutions.
Most recently, Citizens Chairman and CEO Bruce Van Saun joined local leaders; Mass Fintech Hub Board Members, Cait Brumme, CEO of MassChallenge, Mark Casady, General Partner and Co-Founder of Vestigo Ventures, for a roundtable conversation focused on solutions to propel Boston’s innovation economy. The event, Future-Proofing Massachusetts: Building a Resilient Innovation Economy, focused on how institutions can collaborate to drive economic impact and keep local talent in Massachusetts to position the state, its businesses and people for long-term success.

April 28 from 11 AM to 12 PM (Virtual event): FinTech Sandbox is hosting its 11th Demo Day event which features 5 startups from across the globe that are participating in their Data Access Residency Program.
The featured domains include banking, predictive modeling for insures and asset owners, institutional investment, supply chain analytics, AI, financial inclusion, personal finance tools, data analytics, and more. The event occurs during UK FinTech Week.
